Searchapp.exe
Computer users have been complaining of an executable file named Searchapp.exe, which is causing them problems, Searchapp.exe is a CPU process that runs unnoticed and consumes an astonishing amount of CPU power. This is a very bad situation because it will cause the machine to heat up abnormally, freeze, crash and even be damaged for good. Also, since Searchapp.exe is attached to the search function of Windows computers, security researchers recommend caution when trying to disable it, because the search function can be prejudiced. Their first advice is to create a Restore Point before disabling Searchapp.exe.
There are two ways to disable Searchapp.exe.; via the Task Manager or by using the Command Prompt. These methods are easily accomplished and do not require too much expertise from the computer user.
If you choose to use the Task Manag method, open the Task Manager, find the Searchapp.exe file, right-click on it select 'End Task.'
To use the Command Prompt, start the same way, which is opening the Command Prompt, just this time with administrator power. Then, look for the SearchaNext, and apply the following commands in the order shown below:
- cd %windir%\SystemApps
- taskkill /f /im SearchApp.exe
- Microsoft.Windows.Search_cw5n1h2txyewy Microsoft.Windows.Search
The last step is to restart the computer.
