Zatp Ransomware is a New Djvu Family Member

Zatp is the name of a file-encrypting strain of malware, also known as ransomware. The new variant belongs to the family of ransomware variants based on Djvu ransomware code.

Zatp will affect most files found on an infected system's local drives. Files will be encrypted and turned unreadable. Affected file types include documents, media files, executables and archive files.

When the ransomware encrypts a file, it appends the ".zatp" extension to it. This will make a file originally called "image.png" turn into "image.png.zatp" upon encryption.

The ransom note is dropped inside a file called "_readme.txt" - the same name used by all Djvu ransomware clones. The full note goes as follows:
