TripleWhole Adware

TripleWhole is the name of a piece of Mac adware, also known as ad-supported software. TripleWhole belongs to the family of AdLoad adware clones, which numbers hundreds of differently named variants of what is essentially the same ad-supported app.

The application is presented in the same way as other AdLoad clones - it comes with a generic icon, probably by design, so that it can better conceal its presence among the other apps on your Mac.

The sole purpose of TripleWhole and other AdLoad variants is to deliver ads to your Mac, inside your favorite browser. The problem with all this is that a lot of the time the ads delivered by the adware originate from rogue advertising networks and can refer to pages and files that can be potentially harmful.

Rogue ads may refer you to pages containing questionable content, scams, misleading sites and potentially unwanted application installers. This behavior makes it obvious why you wouldn't want to have any sort of adware app on your system.

Removal is very easy as TripleWhole doesn't have any meaningful persistence mechanisms. Just drag its icon onto your Trash and empty the trash afterward.
