How to Remove SimpleProjectSearch
SimpleProjectSearch is a Mac hijacker that can change the settings of Safari, Chrome, or Firefox and replace the default search engine. When installed on your system, SimpleProjectSearch will add an extension to popular web browsers such as Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. After installation, this intrusive extension can be difficult to remove due to its entrenchment with both the browser and other files on your computer system. It will also be able to change the default search engine for Safari, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox browsers replacing it with a fake search engine named 'Simple Project Search.'
SimpleProjectSearch is often bundled with other free software that you download off of the Internet. Unfortunately, some free downloads do not adequately disclose that other software will also be installed and you may find that you have installed an intrusive application without your knowledge. These shady programs are designed to hijack your browser(s), display advertisements and redirect your search results to promotional sites. Some of these programs will even inject ads into your web browser which can make it appear as though they’re not browser-based ads.
Since SimpleProjectSearch is a Mac-specific Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP,) you should proceed to remove it by using a suitable Mac security scanner. To avoid future encounters with such applications, we advise you to carefully read the installation instructions when running new installers, as well as to stick to downloading legitimate, and well-rated apps.
