Instead, its authors are propagating it through software bundles, misleading ads, fake downloads, or bogus installers and updaters. This is why users might often install RemoteView accidentally. What RemoteView does is to work in the background and silently modify and monitor browser settings. It does this in order to promote a 3rd-party site, which might be set as the Web browser's default new tab page, home page, or search aggregator. This change is not harmful, but it will undermine your Web browsing experience. The redirects, which RemoteView triggers, may often take users to ad-ridden pages or other low-quality websites. Needless to say, software that causes such redirects should not be allowed to run on your Mac.
