Qqpp Ransomware is a New Djvu Clone

Qqpp ransomware is the name of a newly discovered strain of file-encrypting malware that belongs to the family of Djvu ransomware clones.

It seems that a new variant of Djvu crops up every week and all variants follow the same pattern. As with all other variants, Qqpp encrypts the entirety of the affected system, except for system files. Encrypted files receive the ".qqpp" extension appended after their old one.

This will make a file previously called "music.mp3" transform into "music.mp3.qqpp" upon successful encryption. The encryption process is irreversible. There is little you can do if your system gets encrypted except restore from an offline backup.
