Remove ObjectRemote
ObjectRemote is an intrusive piece of software that shows up on many Mac devices out of the blue. However, it is usually installed because the user interacted with a dodgy file – pirated program, fake download, or another shady type of content. The good news is that ObjectRemote is not dangerous at all. In fact, you will not notice its presence at all unless you try to use your Web browser.
What Does ObjectRemote Do?
The goal of ObjectRemote is to manipulate your Mac's settings and promote 3rd-party websites. It tends to replace the default new tab page and search engine of Web browsers. The sites that ObjectRemote promotes may vary, but they are almost always a low-quality search engine. Using the latter might be a bad idea, because it could serve sponsored content, shady ads, and other unreliable content.
If you suspect that your Mac's Web browser has had its settings hijacked by unknown software, then you should certainly attempt to fix the issue as soon as possible. Use an up-to-date Mac security tool to scan, identify, and remove all of the ObjectRemote files.
