How to Stop Mypcdefenderplus.site Ads
Our team recently checked out mypcdefenderplus.site and found that it is a deceptive page pushing fake virus warning messages.
Similar websites use imagery tailored to look like the interface windows of legitimate anti-malware software. However, none of this is real. The error messages are not real windows, of course, they are just images on a web page.
The fake warnings will usually warn visitors that their system is infected with an abritrary number of made-up viruses or other dangerous malware.
Please, keep in mind that those warnings are never, ever true. This is all smoke and mirrors, and cheap social engineering scare tactics to get the worried user to click "Allow" on the page.
This will permit the misleading website to spam the victim system with push notifications which will be used to send ads that may link potentially harmful items, including installers for potentially unwanted apps, scam or phishing pages and questionable online content.
Why Can No Web Page Know the Infection Status of Your System?
No web page can know the infection status of your system. The presence of viruses and malware on a computer is determined by running an antivirus scan, which only a legitimate antivirus software program can do accurately. Web pages like mypcdefenderplus.site may falsely declare the presence of viruses on a user's computer in order to trick them into purchasing their product or service.
You should be wary of similar misleading pages and avoid clicking on any part of them.
