What is the Mppn Ransomware?

Mppn is a variant of the Djvu ransomware that encrypts data and adds the string '.mppn' to file names.

It also creates a '_readme.txt' containing instructions for paying ransom in order to decrypt files. For example, if a file named '1.jpg' is encrypted, it will be renamed as '1.jpg.mppn'.

Encryption affects almost every file type, including media files, documents, archives and databases.

The ransom note states that victims cannot decrypt their files without obtaining decryption software and a unique key from the threat actors by paying an amount of $980 or $490 within 72 hours.
