Remove LogarithmicList

potentially unwanted program (PUP)

LogarithmicList is a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) that works on Macs. While it is not dangerous, its presence on your system is likely to introduce various problems and annoyances. For example, many users report that LogarithmicList seems to interfere with the settings of their Web browser. LogarithmicList is able to manipulate the settings of Safari, Chrome, and Firefox.

Are the LogarithmicList Changes Dangerous?

The good news is that this PUP does not promote dangerous content. It focuses on redirecting users to 3rd-party sites and search engines whenever they perform specific actions. For example, you may end up seeing a low-quality search engine when you try to search the Web through the address bar. The same may happen if you try to open a new tab, or to load your homepage.

While these redirects are not a threat, they will hinder your browsing and searching experience. Intrusive advertisements may overshadow the results you see. You may also see more sponsored content than usual, further reducing the quality of your searches.

LogarithmicList typically gets to your Mac thanks to a fake download of an updater or installer. However, low-quality software bundles may also end up delivering it to your system. Thankfully, dealing with the consequences of this 'intrusion' is not a major challenge. All you need to do is to run an up-to-date Mac security scanner. This ensures that all of LogarithmicList's files are removed safely, and that none of its components will continue to tamper with your browser.

Keep in mind that once you remove LogarithmicList, you may need to revert your browser settings manually. You should do the same when dealing with other Mac PUPs like SwitcherGuard.
