Kcvp Ransomware

Kcvp is a new variant of file-encrypting malware known as ransomware. The new variant belongs to the family of Djvu ransomware clones.

Kcvp will encrypt the victim system and leave files scrambled. Once encrypted, the files will go through a name change and get the ".kcvp" string as their new extension. This will turn a file named "document.doc" into "document.doc.kcvp" upon encryption.

The ransomware will encrypt most popular file types, including media and document files, as well as archives.

Once encryption finishes, the ransom note is dropped inside a file named "_readme.txt". The full note reads as follows:
