What Does InstantFresh Adware Do?

adware popups

Our research team recently discovered the InstantFresh app while investigating newly submitted files on online threat databases. Upon inspection, we found that it is an adware belonging to the AdLoad malware family. This type of software runs intrusive advertisement campaigns and may have additional malicious capabilities.

Adware works by displaying intrusive advertisements on various interfaces, which can be used to promote online scams, dangerous software, and malware. It is important to note that any legitimate products or services encountered through these ads are unlikely to be endorsed by their actual developers or creators. Instead, scammers often take advantage of affiliate programs for illegitimate financial gain.

In order for InstantFresh to run its intrusive advert campaigns, certain conditions must be met such as compatible browsers/systems or user geolocation. Even if no ads are displayed, its presence still poses a threat to device integrity and user safety. Additionally, this application might have browser-hijacking qualities which are common in AdLoad adware although none were observed during testing.

InstantFresh also likely gathers private data from users such as browsing and search engine histories, username and password strings , personally identifiable information, and card numbers. This data can then be sold to third-parties or otherwise abused for profit.

It is important to note that InstantFresh can be difficult to remove due to its ability to hide itself in the system. It may also be able to reinstall itself after being removed, making it even more difficult for users to get rid of it. To ensure complete removal of this adware, users should use a reliable anti-malware program and scan their devices regularly.

How can you protect your computer from adware like InstantFresh?

To protect your browser from adware like InstantFresh, it is important to take the necessary steps to ensure your device's security. The first step is to make sure you have a reliable anti-malware program installed on your device and that it is regularly updated. This will help detect and remove any malicious software, including adware, that may be present on your system.

It is also important to be aware of what websites you visit and what links you click on. Adware can often be found on websites with questionable content or those that offer free downloads. It is best to avoid these sites altogether as they can contain malicious code that can infect your system with adware.

Additionally, you should always keep your operating system up-to-date with the latest security patches and updates. This will help protect against any potential vulnerabilities in the system that could be exploited by adware or other malicious software.

Finally, it is important to use caution when downloading files from the internet. Always scan any downloaded files with an anti-virus program before opening them as they may contain malicious code or programs such as adware.
