Remove Factfull Ransomware
Factfull Ransomware is a file-locker that could infect your device, and then encrypt the majority of your important files. It is based on the Makop Ransomware family and, unfortunately, it is impossible to decrypt the files for free. The only recovery option is offered by the criminals who demand a hefty ransom payment in exchange for their services. The Factfull Ransomware creators will probably ask for a payment via Bitcoin to ensure that their identities will not be revealed.
Currently, the only way to restore the files that the Factfull Ransomware damages is to use an up-to-date backup. Sadly, we are well aware that many users might not have this option - maintaining data backups is still not that widely spread. The Factfull Ransomware attack can be recognized by the unique extension that the file-locker appends – '.[<VICTIM ID>].[factfull0103@airmail.cc].factfull.'
The criminals also use the ransomware to drop a ransom note called 'readme-warning.txt.' It contains their contact details, as well as the ransom payment instructions. The exact ransom fee payment is not mentioned – the criminals ask victims to message them at factfull0103@airmail.cc, pecunia0318@tutanota.com, or pecunia0318@goat.si for more details. Victims of this attack should run an up-to-date malware removal tool to clean the infected files off of their computer. Paying the ransom fee is a bad idea, because the crooks could easily scam you. Our suggestion is to focus on removing the threat, and then try out other data recovery options.
