Efvc Ransomware
Efvc ransomware is the latest entry in the long list of Djvu ransomware clones.
The ransomware behaves like all of its clones - it encrypts files on the victim system, scrambling their contents and leaving them largely unusable. Affected files include most media file types, documents and archive files, as well as databases.
Encrypted files receive the extension ".efvc" appended to them, past their original extension. This means that a file called "photo.jpg" will turn into "photo.jpg.efvc" once it has been encrypted.
The ransomware drops its demands inside a plain text file and follows the pattern observed with all recent Djvu clones - $490 in ransom within the first 72 hours, then increases the ransom to $980.
