Cypher Android Malware Sold as Subscription
Cypher is the name of a newly discovered strain of Android malware. The new threat is distributed online and sold using a subscription model on dark web sites.
The malware goes for as little as $100 for a single month, with $200 getting budding script kiddies access to Cypher for two months. A lifetime subscription for the malicious tool comes at $400.
The malware's functionality is significant and it includes both monitoring and surveillance and data theft capabilities. The Cypher malware can scrape a lot of information from the infected device, including installed apps, contact lists, and text messages. Cypher can also perform file operations, including moving, deleting or renaming files on the victim device.
The malware can also access and use the device's microphone and camera and take screenshots, as well as use the on-screen keyboard.
The combination of all those capabilities makes Cypher a significant threat to your mobile device's security. You will need a dedicated Android anti-malware application to remove Cypher from your phone.
