What is Cyberone Ransomware
Cyberone is a ransomware variant that was discovered in the summer of 2022. The ransomware is already reversible and a free decryption tool has been released for it.
Cyberone is a sibling to the MafiaWare666 ransomware. The Cyberone variant will encrypt files and append the ".cyberone" extension to encrypted files.
Affected file types include most commonly used media, archive and document extensions.
The ransomware deposits its ransom demands inside a file called "___RECOVER__FILES__.cyberone.txt", as well as inside a pop-up window. The ransom note goes as follows:
