How to Remove ConfigProgress
ConfigProgress is a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) for the Mac operating system. It does not have an official website or publisher associated with it and, instead, it is being distributed through deceptive ads, fake downloads, software bundles, and other misleading content. The worst part is that ConfigProgress does not pack any redeemable features either – it will not enhance your experience in any way if you decide to install it. In fact, it may end up doing just the opposite – ConfigProgress's installation is often followed by unwanted changes to the configuration of the default Web browser. For example, the PUP may reprogram it to use an alternative new tab page, homepage, and search engine. Such changes are not necessarily dangerous, but they are likely to hinder your online experience.
Since ConfigProgress does not bring anything exciting to the table, you should not allow it to stay on your computer. Dealing with Potentially Unwanted Programs (PUPs) on Mac is not that different compared to Windows – manual removal is still not recommended since you may be unable to find and remove all files linked to the deceptive app. Instead of trying to delete files one by one, we advise you to run an up-to-date Mac security scanner that will take care of the task for you.
