Remove CleanBlocker Rogue Browser Extension

CleanBlocker is the name of a rogue browser extension that is distributed through untrustworthy websites and exhibits adware behavior.

First of all, you should know that CleanBlocker is not found on the Chrome Web Store - a platform that has very good curation most of the time. This should already tell you a lot about the extension.

Instead of blocking ads as its name suggests, CleanBlocker will actually do the polar opposite of this - it will cause ads to display while you browse. The issue here is that shady extensions, which push unsolicited ads like this, often work with rogue ad networks.

This means the ads you may see can link to questionable content, scam or phishing pages or other unsafe locations.

As a rule of thumb, you never want to have any sort of adware app on your system, because adware can only slow down your browsing experience and expose you to potentially harmful ads. If you find CleanBlocker among your browser's extensions, make sure you remove it immediately.
