Why Does Blnq-search.com Browser Hijacker Redirect Me?
If you find that your favorite browser keeps redirecting you to blnq-search dot com, with various strings behind the main domain name, you likely have a browser hijacker on your system.
Browser hijackers are a type of potentially unwanted program. As the name suggests, those are applications that are not as dangerous as malware but are also not useful or helpful the way legitimate applications are. PUPs inhabit a space in-between malware and legitimate software.
Browser hijackers will change different settings in your browser without adequate disclosure. Those include changes to your home page, new blank tab content or your default search engine. In the case of Blnq-search, the browser hijacker is pushing the fake search engine that simply generated Bing results.
There is no reason why you would want to keep the hijacker installed on your system and it is recommended that you attempt removing it if you do encounter those redirects. You may need to use an anti-malware suite to completely get rid of the browser hijacker.
