What is the Black-Lights Rogue Extension?

Black-Lights is the name of a rogue extension that acts as adware once installed in your browser.

It should be noted that this particular extension is not available on the Chrome Web Store. It can only be encountered through bad redirects and by misleading websites and rogue ads that attempt to start its installation in your browser.

Like many similar rogue extensions, Black-Lights claims it can change the color scheme of pages you browse and introduce a "night mode" of sorts. In addition to this advertised functionality, Black-Lights also acts as adware.

The extension can display ads in various forms inside your browser. Ads displayed by rogue extensions and misleading websites may link to questionable online content, untrustworthy websites, scam or phishing pages or the installers of other rogue extensions and browser hijackers.

If you find Black-Lights on your system and in the list of your browser addons and extensions, you should make sure you remove it immediately to minimize any further exposure to potentially harmful rogue advertising delivered through the extension.
