Remove AdvancedDisplay
AdvancedDisplay is an intrusive piece of software that is compatible with Macs. Although its name suggests that it has something to do with your display, we assure you that AdvancedDisplay has nothing to do with this. In fact, the app is entirely useless when it comes to features – it just uses the name AdvancedDisplay to sound more legitimate. But what does AdvancedDisplay do then?
Mac systems are being actively targeted by a wide range of Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) that uses similar random names as AdvancedDisplay. The goal of these applications is to sneak into the system, and then work in the background to tamper with browser settings. AdvancedDisplay is known to promote 3rd-party search sites by configuring them as the default new tab page or search engine of browsers. In the meantime, it may also prevent users from accessing their browser configuration.
Discovering AdvancedDisplay on your Mac is not a red flag, because the app is not dangerous. However, you should certainly not allow it to continue doing its thing, Make sure to use an up-to-date Mac security scanner to guarantee the full removal of AdvancedDisplay's components. Once this PUP is gone, you should be able to easily revert your browser settings back to normal.
