Powd は、ランサムウェア クローンの Djvu ファミリーに属する、新たに発見されたランサムウェアの亜種の名前です。

新しい亜種は、被害者のシステムを暗号化し、ドライブ上のほぼすべてのファイルをスクランブルします。暗号化されたファイルには、メディア、ドキュメント、アーカイブ、データベースのファイル タイプ、および実行可能ファイルが含まれます。

暗号化されたファイルには「.powd」拡張子が付きます。これにより、「document.txt」という名前のファイルが暗号化されると、「document.txt.powd」に変わります。

身代金要求は「_readme.txt」と呼ばれるプレーン テキスト ファイル内に配置され、ファイルはユニバーサル Djvu テンプレートに従います。身代金メモの全文は次のとおりです。
