iMessage 'Waiting for Activation' Error
Seeing the iMessage 'Waiting for Activation' Error may sound like this is an issue that will be resolved automatically soon. However, some users encountering the iMessage 'Waiting for Activation' Error say that it did not seem to be fixed even a day after seeing it. Needless to say, if this problem persists for so long, you need to take some troubleshooting steps to try and fix any potential issues that might be the cause of this:
Configure Your Device
Verify that your Internet connection is working (WiFi or mobile data) and also that you are connected to your mobile carrier's service. This is required to receive the activation text message. Furthermore, open your phone's settings and go to Settings -> General -> Date & Time to verify that you are using the correct time zone. Ideally, turn on the Set Automatically dial.
Restart iMessage
Open your iPhone's Settings and head to Messages. Disable iMessage and then restart the device. Return to the Settings -> Messages menu and re-enable iMessage.
Restart your Apple ID
To do this, you will first need to go to Settings -> Messages -> Send & Receive. Find your Apple ID, press it, and click Sign Out. After this, open Messages -> iMessage -> Send & Receive, and then press Use your Apple ID for iMessage.
