How to Uninstall Snagit
Snagit is a useful software suite meant to enable its users to record videos and pictures of their screen, as well as to quickly compress them so they are ready to share. It is a great tool to record tutorials, assist with troubleshooting, and even use at the office. If, for some reason, you plan to stop using Snagit on your Mac or Windows system, then here are the instructions on how to uninstall the app efficiently:
Uninstalling Snagit on Windows
The removal of Snagit from Windows is not that different compared to any other piece of software. Users need to head to the Start Menu -> Apps. Once the new window opens, they need to select Snagit from the list of installed software and then press Uninstall. This will open the uninstall wizard and also enable users to choose whether to keep or delete Snagit files linked captures, logs, configuration, etc.
Uninstalling Snagit on Mac
Mac users should start the removal by quitting Snagit entirely. After this, open Finder-> Applications and drag Snagit's icon to the Trash Bin. This will remove the core components and files of Snagit, but there are still a few tasks to perform in order to get rid of leftover files.
Open Finder -> Go -> Go to Folder and then visit the following folders to delete any files/folders belonging to Snagit:
- /Library/Application Support/
- /Library/Caches/
- /Library/Containers/
- /Library/Logs/
- /Library/Cookies/
- /Library/Saved Application State/
- /Library/LaunchAgents/
- /Library/Preferences
