How to Open & Use the Windows Action Center

The button is available in the bottom-right corner of the screen, right next to the date & time widget. When you click it, you will see that  the Action Center is split into two sections – the top one contains notifications, while the bottom one consists of quick actions. By default, you will see things such as Focus Assist, Snip & Sketch, Network Settings, and more. Do not hesitate to click the Expand button to reveal more quick actions.

Now that you know where the Windows Action Center is, and what it contains, it is time to tailor it. TO do this, open the Start Menu -> Notifications & Actions menu. From there, you can easily tailor the notifications you see, as well as which apps have permissions to use this feature. On top, you can add or remove quick actions.

You can add all sorts of utilities to the Quick Actions menu, including 3rd-party utilities. This means that you could use it to manage your VPN, notes, projects, monitor settings, and more.

Keep in mind that if this is your first time opening the Action Center, you might see tons of old notifications. You can dismiss them by pressing the X button next to their name.

Can You Turn Off the Windows Action Center?

Unfortunately, this is not possible. While you could remove all quick actions from it, and also block all Windows notifications, you cannot remove the icon from the taskbar. The next best option is to simply ignore the Action Center if you do not need it.
