How to Avoid Advertisingvt.com Ad Pop-Ups
Advertisingvt dot com is a generic, bland misleading website, designed to promote ads and get them inside as many browsers as possible.
When you land on Advertisingvt dot com, the only thing you'll see is a blank page with a cartoon image of a pink robot on it, against a blank white background. The cute robot urges visitors to "click allow" if they are not robots.
This is a fake anti-bot check that has nothing to do with any version of a real one. The fake bot check is a simple trick designed to trick users into clicking "allow" in the "allow notifications" dialog that comes up when you visit the page at Advertisingvt dot com.
Doing this will allow ads to be sent to your browser through push notification functionality. The big issue with this is that those ads may be sourced through rogue ad networks. This is common practice with misleading websites and browser hijackers.
This also means that those ads may link to unsafe locations, potentially unwanted programs, questionable content and other misleading websites.
You can spare yourself the headache of getting rid of those ads by simply not clicking "allow". Make it a rule of thumb to never click any buttons or links on unfamiliar sites when they ask you to do it seconds after opening and you will have a much better and safer online experience.
