Findsmartresults.com Produces Bogus Search Results
Findsmartresults dot com is yet another search engine associated with the Ask Media Group. Sadly, just like other search engines run by that entity, it produces bad search results that contain far more sponsored content and ads than real search matches.
After recently looking at Smartanswersonline dot com, another Ask Media Group search portal, we ran essentially the same test on Findsmartresults dot com and the results were largely the same.
Testing out the search offered by Findsmartresults dot com and comparing it with a same-query Google dot com search, the difference is astonishing.
Searching on Google for "steam", the first results you get, quite logically, are related to Valve Corporation's Steam platform - the biggest digital game distribution platform in the world.
Running the exact same query using Findsmartresults dot com, however, produces very different results. After you wade through dozens of sponsored and ad-supported matches and results, then sifting through a section of results labeled "RESULTS FROM THE ASK MEDIA GROUP NETWORK", you will discover that there is not a single page directly related to Valve's Steam platform or any of its official websites or social media accounts. You do get a match containing an article on how to steam vegetables, though, if that's any consolation.
Given this performance when compared directly to a widely used search engine, it should be very obvious why using Findsmartresults dot com is not the greatest idea in the world.
The page will also attempt to get users to allow notifications from the page - functionality used by legitimate news websites that push lots of new articles and live updates, and also used by misleading domains acting as browser hijackers that use push notification functionality to spam ads in your browser.
