'Editor' Extension Browser Hijacker Pushes Ads
Editor is the nondescript and mysterious name of a browser hijacker that is masquerading as a browser extension.
The Editor extension provides no specific information about its functionality or purpose. The "Editor" extension, once installed in your browser, has no description text. Every legitimate extension will have a short descriptive text under its name in your browser's Extensions menu.
Editor behaves like a browser hijacker and will display unsolicited advertisements in your browser. The hijacker will also be able to, as the name suggests, hijack search queries and trigger redirects to questionable destinations.
This sort of behavior is problematic in its own right, but it becomes even more of an issue when you consider the fact that those changes inside your browser take place without your explicit consent. Browser hijackers of this kind always work under the radar, because they know this behavior is undesirable.
In some cases, removing browser hijackers can be problematic, but the ones that are packaged as browser extensions are usually easy to get rid of. Simply open your browser's extensions menu, find the problematic one and click "Remove".
