'DHL Express' Scam
"DHL Express" is the name of yet another online scam that abuses the name and branding of DHL.
The scam is hosted on various malicious online pages. The gist of the setup is very simple - users who land on the page hosting the scam are told that DHL Express was unable to deliver their package. The page claims that the package contains some very expensive item, for example, a new Apple product.
The scam claims the package did not reach its destination because there were supposed unpaid fees amounting to a few dollars. Of course, this is all fake.
Trying to claim the package currently leads to a dead link, but the scam might be redirected to a functioning phishing page or some other data-harvesting portal at any time.
The very first and very obvious red flag that should help you dodge similar scams is that the notification doesn't even come in your inbox, it is literally hosted on a completely random web page. If you stop and think about it for a second, there is no way for the page to know who you are and what you may or may not have ordered, so the message is obviously fake.
Use common sense when browsing the web and don't get overly excited about everything that seems like a freebie while you click around different sites.
