CycleAfter Mac Adware Joins AdLoad Army of Clones
Yet another adware app belonging to the AdLoad family was spotted in the wild recently. The latest clone to join the endless host of AdLoad spinoffs uses a nonsensical randomly generated name just like all other clones. This time the random word generator used to name those adware apps picked the name "CycleAfter".
Adware or ad-supported software like CycleAfter is not a significant threat on its own. However, a lot of adware apps partner up with rogue ad networks to deliver their ads.
This means that the ads displayed in your browser by whatever adware you have installed on your system may link to unsafe pages, malicious files, scams and questionable content. There is no way to control those ads or stop them easily if you still have the adware application installed on your Mac.
Thankfully, getting rid of this type of adware app is easy. All you need to do is find it in your Applications folder, then drag and drop it onto your Trash. Finally, empty the Trash.
