What is AllocateClassics Mac Adware?
AllocateClassics is the latest addition to the endless roster of AdLoad family clones. AdLoad is a family of Mac adware that numbers hundreds of variants that do essentially the same thing - deliver ads to your browser.
AllocateClassics does nothing different compared to other AdLoad clones. It shares the same icon with them all - a looking glass in a colored circle. This generic look helps the adware blend in better among your other apps. What is a dead giveaway when it comes to AdLoad clones is their names.
All clones use the same naming convention - grab two words from a dictionary, string them and keep your fingers crossed it makes some sense. In the sense of AllocateClassics that's not really the case.
Adware of this kind may pose a threat to your system, not on its own but due to how it operates in conjunction with rogue ad networks. This means that the ads delivered through those networks may link to potentially unwanted apps, untrustworthy websites or questionable content.
This is why adware of any kind, whether it's AllocateClassics or any other type, is not something you want to keep installed on your system. Removal is usually easy and involves just dragging the app's icon and dropping it onto your Trash.
