What is RelianceTask Mac Adware?

RelianceTask is the name of an ad-supported application, also known as adware. RelianceTask belongs to the family of adware variants known as AdLoad and can affect Mac computers.

Ad-supported software works by displaying advertisements on the target system, generating revenue for the adware's author in the process. The biggest issue with this practice is not that those ads may be unsolicited and largely unwanted if the adware was installed quietly through a bundle installer.

The largest issue with any piece of adware is that adware apps often partner with rogue ad networks. Rogue networks may display ads that link to questionable content, malicious and unsafe pages, scams, or potentially unwanted apps.

Combining this with the fact that a lot of adware is bundled with other applications and will often install quietly, without receiving explicit user permission, adware is not something you want to have on your system.

The uninstallation of adware apps like RelianceTask is thankfully easy. Just drag and drop it onto your Trash, then empty the Trash and you should be set.
