"Malicious Domain Request" Message
Users online have complained about a certain disturbing message titled "malicious domain request." We will quickly try to explain what this message is and why you may be seeing it.
In the general case, seeing this message on your system means you attempted to load or visit a known malicious domain, exactly as the message title suggests.
This message may be triggered by your antivirus software and is put in place to alert you that you are about to hit a known bad or malicious domain or website. The software will likely prevent you from accessing the known malicious page anyway, but the message is there to let you know what is going on.
In our testing, we discovered that a number of websites that reportedly bring up the "malicious domain request" message are indeed known bad and malicious domains and are filtered out and blocked automatically, even by a high-quality browser extension that blocks ads and known online badware.
If you are seeing this message while you are attempting to access sites you know for sure are not malicious, then there may be something going on with bad redirects or the HOSTS file on your Windows system, which can re-route specific domain strings to link to specific places.
