How To Stop Isza Ransomware

Isza Ransomware is a malicious computer virus that belongs to the Djvu family of ransomware. It works by encrypting files and appending its own unique extension ".isza" to the infected file's name. Once it has encrypted the files, Isza will then drop a ransom note in the form of a _readme.txt file which contains contact information and the ransom amount. The attackers behind Isza often also drop other malware, such as Vidar or Redline onto the infected device, before encrypting files.

What Happens After Infection with Isza Ransomware?

The ransom note typically instructs victims to contact the attackers via two email addresses (support@fishmail.top and datarestorehelp@airmail.cc) and pay a ransom of either $980 or $490 for the decryption tool. It also mentions that if victims contact them within 72 hours, they may be eligible for a discounted price. In addition, Isza offers the option to send one encrypted file to the attackers for free in order to test their decryption tools. However, this file must not contain valuable information.

It is important to note that in most cases, it is impossible to recover files without the attackers' decryption tools or a working third-party decryption tool. Paying ransom money should be avoided as there is no guarantee that the cybercriminals will provide a decryption tool (or tools).

How To Safely Remove Isza Ransomware

Once Isza is detected on a device, it should be removed as soon as possible. This will prevent further damage to the already affected computer and the potential for infecting computers connected to a local network. To avoid data loss due to ransomware infections, it is recommended that files are backed up on a remote server or unplugged storage device. Removal of Isza Ransomware may be done automatically using an anti-malware application designed to eliminate malware threats on Windows PCs.
