How to Avoid Dolty.click Ad Spam

Dolty dot click is a misleading website that will attempt to scare the visitor with fake warning messages.

We classify this type of misleading page as a "fake virus alert" or "fake security alert" site. This kind of page will usually have images made to look like antivirus software windows and menus. Inside those images will be very scary messages about your computer.

Those messages can vary from "you visited an illegal website" and any variation of this, to "you have five dangerous viruses on your computer" and all variations of this as well.

The main thing you need to keep in mind when dealing with this type of page is that all those warnings, each and every one of them, are fake.

An online site cannot have this sort of information about your system and cannot provide any such warnings. All this is usually an attempt to scare the user into clicking through in a hurry and accepting ads from the misleading site.

To be safer online, simply make it a rule of thumb to never interact with any online page that throws "virus warnings" at you, especially if the warnings are delivered inside images made to look like an antivirus application.
