Ccew Ransomware Asks for Modest Ransom

Ccew ransomware is the name of yet another Djvu ransomware clone that was spotted in the wild.
Ccew is the latest in an endless string of ransomware variants based on Djvu code. There are at least a few coming out every week, joining the endless host of Djvu clones. This latest variant does nothing different.
It encrypts documents, archives, databases and media files on the victim system. Once encrypted, files are given a new extension in the form of ".ccew" appended after their old one, hence the name given to this strain of ransomware.
The ransom note is deposited inside a plain text file called "_readme.txt" and follows the usual template, shared among all Djvu variants in recent months, asking for $490 in ransom and doubling that amount if no payment is made within 72 hours. The full note goes as follows:
