Qqlc Ransomware Joins Host of Djvu Clones
This week shows no deviation from the norm and several new Djvu ransomware clones have come out. One of those is named the Qqlc ransomware.
Qqlc does nothing different compared to other Djvu clones. The ransomware encrypts the majority of files found on the victim system, then drops its ransom demands.
Encrypted files receive the ".qqlc" extension, appended past their original one. This will turn a file originally named "picture.jpg" into "picture.jpg.qqlc" once it has been encrypted.
The random demands of the Qqlc ransomware are deposited inside a plain-text file named "_readme.txt", just the same as any other Djvu clone. The note even follows the same template and asks for the same ransom amount. The full note goes as follows:
