Netdivision
Another adware program targeting macOS users was uncovered by security researchers. Named Netdivision, it can invade a computer without its user's permission when its user opens spam emails, clicks on corrupted advertisements, visits compromised websites or takes advantage of other ways of delivering unwanted applications. Netdivision belongs to the AdLoad family, which has been releasing numerous new members lately. No matter if you are using Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, Opera, etc., any of them may be affected by Netdivision.
Netdivision is not the website kind that computer users visit voluntarily, to enter a computer, its developers use misleading methods, such as the ones described above. Not visiting Netdivision is a good move because all it will do is display numerous unwanted advertisements. These advertisements, if clicked, may direct computer users to misleading websites carrying schemes, offering bogus services, fake updates, security programs related to technical support tactics and a lot more.
Visited Web pages, search queries, IP addresses, geolocation and other private information can be collected by Netdivisionis and transmitted to the Command and Control servers of its developers. The gathered data can then be used to perform mean actions or be sold to hackers.
Since it is more than probable that keeping an application such as Netdivisionis on a computer can have bad consequences, it is better to erase it from the affected machine with a malware solution.
