Scoreboard Tab Rogue Browser Extension

Scoreboard Tab is a rogue browser extension that functions as a browser hijacker.

In the extension's description, it claims that it will display popular sports game scores in your new tabs. While this functions as intended, the extension will also swap out your default search engine.

This is very common practice with rogue extensions and as with most rogue extensions that do this, Scoreboard Tab will also display Bing search result pages. However, most of those extensions have a middle-man fake search engine that your queries go through first, before being redirected through Bing.

This extra step creates opportunities for data collection and search query logging, which is not something you want to risk.

If you find Scoreboard Tab in your Chrome, it would probably be best if you uninstall the extension and restore your old default search engine settings.
