Tuow Ransomware è un nuovo clone di Djvu
L'ultima variante di ransomware individuata in natura è un'altra variante del codice del ransomware Djvu. La nuova variante si chiama semplicemente Tuow ransomware.
Tuow crittograferà i file sul sistema di destinazione, rendendoli inutilizzabili. I file crittografati ricevono l'estensione ".tuow", che funge anche da nome del ransomware, per mancanza di un'alternativa migliore. Il processo di crittografia trasformerà un file chiamato "image.png" in "image.png.tuow".
I file crittografati includeranno formati di file multimediali, documenti, eseguibili e di archivio.
La richiesta di riscatto viene rilasciata all'interno di un file chiamato "_readme.txt". La nota completa è la seguente:
