WARLOCK DARK ARMY verschlüsselt die meisten Dateien, die auf dem Opfersystem gefunden werden, und macht sie unbrauchbar. Nach der Verschlüsselung erhalten die Dateien eine neue Erweiterung, die einen Kraftausdruck enthält. Der Verschlüsselungsprozess wandelt eine Datei namens „image.png“ in „image.png.f**ckcrypt“ um.

Die Ransomware verschlüsselt die meisten Medien, Dokumente, Archive, Datenbanken und ausführbaren Dateitypen.

Sobald die Verschlüsselung des Systems abgeschlossen ist, legt die Ransomware ihre Lösegeldforderungen in einer Datei namens „read_it.txt“ ab und legt die Datei auf dem Desktop ab. Die vollständige Lösegeldforderung lautet wie folgt:
